IndyReads Book Release and Panel Discussion: Raising the Curtain (at IndyReads)
On Saturday, March 16th, at 2pm, join Paul Hansen for a discussion of his new book, Raising the Curtain: Technology Success Stories from Performing Arts Leaders and Artists. The discussion will be followed by a Question & Answer session and book signing. This discussion is appropriate for all ages.
The panel will include:

– Malia Argüello, production manager at Indiana Repertory Theatre
– Devon Ginn, director of inclusion & community partnerships at Indiana Repertory Theatre

Indy Reads is thrilled to welcome back local horror writer, Davide Tarsitano, on March 16th at 4pm for a reading of his newest novel, Hollow. The reading will be followed by an author Q&A and signing.
This reading is recommended for ages 13+.

The Indy Indie Book Crawl
March 21 @ 11:00 am – March 24 @ 5:00 pm
It’s time to book crawl across Indy! The first-ever Indy Indie Indy Book Crawl is a free, four-day book crawl with 17 participating stores and 3 grand prizes.
Here is how IIBC works:
– Pick up a 2024 IIBC bookmark from any participating store (like Indy Reads!)
– Visit as many stores as you can from 3/21-3/24 (there is no minimum!)
– Each store you visit will mark off your bookmark.
– Each store you visit = one entry to win a prize! No purchase is necessary but buying books is always encouraged.
Indy Reads will have special bookmarks that serve as passports during the Book Crawl. Our hours are Wed-Sat, 11am-7pm and Sundays, 11am-5pm. We will also have fun promotion on-site so that book crawlers can learn more about Indy Reads!

Butler University Visiting Writers Series: Tiana Clark
Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize Winner and Essayist

Tiana Clark is the author of the poetry collection, I Can’t Talk About the Trees, Without the Blood, winner of the 2017 Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize, and Equilibrium, selected by Afaa Michael Weaver for the 2016 Frost Place Chapbook Competition. Clark is a winner for the 2020 Kate Tufts Discovery Award (Claremont Graduate University), a 2019 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellow, and the 2015 Rattle Poetry Prize. She is a recipient of the 2021-2022 Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Scholarship and 2019 Pushcart Prize. Clark is the 2017-2018 Jay C. and Ruth Halls Poetry Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute of Creative Writing. She is the recipient of scholarships and fellowships to the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. Clark is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (M.F.A) and Tennessee State University (B.A.) where she studied Africana and Women’s studies. Her writing has appeared in or is forthcoming fromThe New Yorker,Poetry Magazine,The Atlantic,The Washington Post,Virginia Quarterly Review,Tin House Online,Kenyon Review,BuzzFeed News,American Poetry Review,Oxford American,The Best American Poetry 2022, and elsewhere. She teaches at the Sewanee School of Letters. She is the Grace Hazard Conkling Writer-in-Residence at Smith College.
Get Inked! Teen Writing Conference
Meet Authors and Improve Writing Skills at Get Inked 2024!
A writer’s conference for students in grades 7–12 on the beautiful campus of Saint Mary’s College. Virtual option available.
Teen writers are invited to attend the Get Inked Teen Writing Conference. Hosted by Saint Mary’s College, participants will spend the day connecting with published authors in writing workshops and small-group breakout sessions. Students will experiment with style and form, share ideas, improve their writing skills, and make valuable connections with industry professionals and other young writers.
This day-long event is perfect for students who:
• Have an interest in writing and storytelling
• Want to be a little more confident in their writing abilities
• Want to meet industry professionals, and like free books!
This year’s conference features YA authors Alicia Novio, Patrick Flores-Scott, Kristin Bartley-Lenz, Katherine Higgs-Coulthard, and Mary Ann Moore, along with more to be announced soon.

Limited to 100 remote participants. Registration is $70 and includes two autographed books and a Get Inked Writer’s Notebook. Shipping of conference materials is included.
